This mansion dates back to 1905 and was built by Chester Congdon, who passed away in 1916. His daughter Elisabeth inherited it but sadly, she died when smothered with her pillow and her nurse Velma Pietila was bludgeoned to death with a candlestick. Marjorie, Elisabeth's adopted daughter and her second husband Roger Caldwell, were charged for the killings but Marjorie was acquitted. Some claim that the hauntings that take place are due to the deaths. Email Haunt

  • Need to return...

It's a feeling you get once arriving on the property, and for me it has never left. I've had a fascination with this estate since first touring it a couple decades ago. I think with all the actual belongings of the Congdon family, the story being told everyday by tour guides, and the energies around it's no wonder why it feels haunted. Residual or intelligent, maybe both; nonetheless; beautiful and memorable indeed.

  • Ready to catch..

I was standing on the main stairwells first landing, the woman standing next to me was 3 months pregnant, she had been laughing and feeling perfectly fine.. All the sudden she weaves and drops into my arms. I checked her pulse and my wife got her some water, but she said the room spun around and she felt pushed down to the floor.

  • Something there...

This is the only place I've ever had a paranormal experience. I went there in the winter, and there were very few people around. I could hear kids laughing from somewhere, but I never saw any kids on the tours or property. I also split off the tour and looked around the basement. I opened the door to the boiler room and the lights went out. Very creepy. There is also a small cemetery on the property, but no one seems to know anything about it. I've heard rumors there are tunnels underneath the property, but I don't know where they go. I loved it there, but it's hard to leave. It calls to you.
