  • So Much Potential, So Little Scares

October 2019, Friday Night This place has the potential to be a really great haunt, but it comes up very short on the scare factor. The haunt is large spanning several farm buildings, old school buses, and a trail. The large space provides a lot of scare potential, unfortunately that potential isn’t taken advantage of. The Good:The decorations are well done. The lighting and light effects are spooky. The school buses are a great and unique prop. The general themes of the swamp, the nightmare barn, and the clown house are good. The scare actors do a good job of being spooky. What Could Use Improvement:More actors inside the haunts. There were plenty of scare actors at the entrances and out and about spooking people between attractions, but very few actors actually inside the haunts. There is very little added sound. The scary atmosphere in all parts of the haunt would drastically improve by incorporating a loud spooky soundtrack and sound effects to match the themes. The maze/narrow hallway layout used in the buildings doesn’t allow for the themes to be fleshed out very much. There are few, if any, “rooms” or “scenes” in this haunt. The buildings are almost entirely made up of zigzagging narrow hallways with a few anticipated jump scares around corners. Adding a few rooms with actors playing out a scene would dramatically up the scare factor.Group entry needs to be slowed down by at least another minute. We were moving through the mazes at a slow pace and still ran into the group in front of us in each maze, turning us into one huge group, making it less scary and revealing all the scares ahead of time. The school buses are extremely underutilized. Those buses have such huge potential to be a unique scare experience no other place can offer, but they are used in a way that makes them feel like an afterthought. (A line forms at the entrance of each bus and they are essentially treated as a 6 second haunted house.) Incorporating the buses in a larger scare rather than their own stand alone scares would make better use of them.Final Thoughts:This haunt isn’t scary. It’s on the edge of being scary and just a few tweaks would make it much better. Although it wasn’t scary I did enjoy myself and had a good time walking through with my wife and 13 year old little sister, both of whom agreed it needed more scares.

  • Minnesota's Most Terrifying Attraction

FRIGHT at the FARM lives up to the name. A great location. I actually think the buildings are haunted! Definitely coming back to this haunt. The black out experience was awesome!

  • Actors tried too hard. Some zones too short

I think they have the space to make a great haunted farm location. Just not utilized. A change up on what theme is where would be good. Some of the actors either tried too hard or didnt seem to have the knowledge/skills to scare. (Shambling zombies were the biggest let down). The hemp maze also seems like wasted. Calling it a maze is inaccurate as its a small guided path. Will say, 2 of the clowns were great, the one that had the sucker and got up in my face was really good.

  • Email Verified Fun time!

Fright at the farm was fun! It had some good jump out moments and it had multiple houses/areas you go in. It was cool to go through a canabis maze! You go through 6 areas, but you go through it too quick. It took us like 10 minutes to go through all areas and it could be decorated better.

  • Email Verified Would recommend to a stranger, not a friend.

I would recommend it to a stranger because I’ve gone to Fright at the Farm three years straight. The last two years I went, I’ve found this to be the scariest in the area, and I would want a stranger to have that experience. I wouldn’t recommend this to a friend however, mainly because this year there were way more walking than scares. In each section of the place, I saw 5 scarers (each) maximum. In addition to that’s, the price got jacked up by a couple dollars and I regret going, I wouldn’t even go with the lower price I saw the last two years. The last few years I left the Fright at the Farm in absolute awe, wanting to return the next night. However, this year I left with the determination to leave a review immediately because of how underwhelming and boring this place was. Thank you for your time reading this, and I sincerely hope you have a scarier and better experience than I did.

  • Spooky and Scary

The visit to the Rochester Horror Fright Farm has been really very interesting and scary too. The entire haunt is a spooky farm with indoor haunts too. The actors looked real ghosts and the staff were friendly enough to help us throughout the haunt. Kids were taken care of well while they had fun at the pumpkin patch here. We had such a lovely time screaming and then making fun of others getting scared. I have never ever laughed so much in my life. I will recommend this to all my friends.

  • Awesome Night Horror

Amazing! The night at the Southern Minnesota's most horrifying haunted attraction located at the Willow’s Farm was so terrifying. The haunted corn maze was so dark and you could never guess when a ghosts jumps out at you from the dark. The haunted attraction is so well designed to frighten and the themes are great. The live theatrical tour guides through the attraction were good. Great picnic spot and I will be definitely going for more fun with my friends and family.
