2025 Question and Answer With Monster Bash Haunted House

Home » Blog » Minnesota Haunts: An In Depth Look

MinnesotaHauntedHouses.com recently sat down with Jt Shupe of Monster Bash Haunted House, to discuss what's new at Monster Bash Haunted House for the 2025 Halloween Season!

What's new at Monster Bash Haunted House for 2025? Do you have any new rides, attractions, or special features that Haunt Seekers should know about?

Monster Bash's building went through an expansion this summer but due to weather delays we did not get everything complete so unfortunately we can't expand our haunt as planned for this season. However, we have an entirely new theme for 2025, something we've never tried before.

What are you most excited about for the 2025 Halloween Season?

Our new theme!
As mentioned this is something we haven't tried before this season. We are taking a twist on a classic fairy tale and bringing it into our haunt.

What differentiates Monster Bash Haunted House from other local haunts in Minnesota?

I would say 2 things differentiate us...
1) Every year we have an entirely new theme for our haunt. This is our 13th haunt and our 13th new theme.
2) We are run by a charity and the proceeds return to the local community by way of the arts programs at the local school.

How long has Monster Bash Haunted House been in business? Can you tell us a bit more about Monster Bash Haunted House's history?

You can learn a great deal about our haunt's history on our website https://www.monsterbashhauntedhouse.org/ especially on our "About Us" and "History" pages.
This is our 13th haunted house, our 14th year of existence as an organization. We are a charity and rely on attendance of the haunt to fund the organization and our charitable efforts. No one who runs the charity receives any compensation, all the money goes back into improving the haunt or supporting the arts.

What's your favorite experience since opening Monster Bash Haunted House?

Our "employees" are either students and their family from the local school district or volunteers. My favorite experience is working with the young people every year and teaching them new skills or being inspired by their enthusiasm.

How long is a typical haunt experience at Monster Bash Haunted House from start to finish?

This is a hard one to answer. To be honest, our biggest complaint from customers is that they wish the haunt was longer. Depending on how you interact with the haunt and actors it can take from 10-20 minutes to experience the haunt. With our expanded location we hope to extend that next season.
The wait is another topic. Depending on how busy we are your expected wait time can be anywhere from 15 minutes to 2 hours (on our busiest nights). I would suggest looking at early season attendance or coming on a Sunday as that's when we are least busy.

On a scale from 1 to 10, how scary would you say Monster Bash Haunted House is? Why?

Again a tough question. After working with Monster Bash for 14 years I'm a tough scare. I've been to some of the biggest haunted houses in the country and have rarely been scared. How scary something in really depends on what scares you... for some people a single clown in the haunt is a big nope. For others it's nothing. We make an effort to provide a scary environment as well as a good number of jump scares. Only you can tell us how scary it was for you.

Does Monster Bash Haunted House's property have any real haunted history? Do you have a spooky encounter you'd like to share?

Over the years our workers who were in the building alone will swear to hear noises and voices. However we are not aware of anything which would cause any "real hauntings."

Can Monster Bash Haunted House accommodate large groups? How many people can experience Monster Bash Haunted House together as a group?

Monster Bash believes that small groups going through the haunt results in the best experience. We try to keep the groups going in together less than 6 (and really less than 4 if we can manage it). We have had large groups attend but they need to break up into smaller groups to go through the haunt. Being in a conga line going through a haunted house is not scary for those in the back of the line most times.

Does Monster Bash Haunted House offer any special deals, discounts, or coupons?

There is a small discount for the first weekend and on our one Sunday this year.
