What's new at The Mactabilis Souls for 2026? Do you have any new rides, attractions, or special features that Haunt Seekers should know about?
The location and layout is completely different. The haunt is outside with separate, individual scenes. There will be 4 scenes with the most twisted ideas I can come up.
What are you most excited about for the 2026 Halloween Season?
I've always wanted to have a haunted attraction outdoors. I'm excited to see what I can build. My goal is to show people the passion I have for this business.
How long has The Mactabilis Souls been in business? Can you tell us a bit more about The Mactabilis Souls's history?
I was told by families who bring their kids my house that I should really open a haunted house. In 2023, I rented buildings in Preston and did the business as non-profit, donations only. The reviews about the layout and attraction inspired me to create something much larger. I rented a 3 story building and created a unique layout. I built about 16 different rooms and put alot of work in them. The reviews were outstanding so I kept that building for 2025. People wanted it to grow so I used all 3 floors which developed into 26 different rooms. The customer reviews really helps me achieve what people want. I pay attention to what is said and try to improve things based on those reviews. Now my current challenge is to create something unique and twisted. I want people to scream and have fun!
What's your favorite experience since opening The Mactabilis Souls?
Today, 8/8/26, I was handing out flyers and met a father who said his son is still traumatized from going through the haunt in 2025. His son will not go near anything scary, he avoids it all. I don’t want to make people that scared, but it shows that my creations are terrifying to some.
On a scale from 1 to 10, how scary would you say The Mactabilis Souls is? Why?
Some of the rooms weren't too scary. I know some people appreciate the details someone puts into their haunt. But some people don't like chainsaws, pure darkness, clowns, or demonic nuns. My goal is to be as scary as can be. Overall, based on the previous 3 years, I'd say the haunt rates around 7 on the scary scale.
