Washington Avenue Bridge

The Washington Avenue Bridge in Minneapolis dates back to the 1960s and is situated along the Mississippi River. It connects the East and West Bank campuses of the University of Minnesota. The bridge has two decks, the top for pedestrians and bicyclists and the bottom for vehicles. The location has been well known for paranormal activity, most likely because it is unfortauntely a hot spot for suicides. It is believed to be haunted by the spirits of those who jumped to their death. One of the ghosts include that of professor John Berryman who committed suicide in the early 1970s. Witnesses who cross over the bridge sometimes claim to hear phantom footsteps at night and feel as though someone is watching them from the shadows.
