Father Hennepin Bluffs Park - Real Minneapolis Haunted Place

  • 420 SE Main St.
  • Minneapolis, MN
Father Hennepin Bluff Park in Minneapolis (St. Anthony Main) is situated along the Mississippi Riverfront and it has been around for quite some time. The location is on the list of ghost tours which are available all year round. Stories say that in the 1950s and 1960s, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers came to Minneapolis to construct two sets of locks at the lower end of the falls. While trying to do so, they destroyed the old Spirit Island—a body of land used as a burial ground by Native Americans. Some say this was bad juju and the reason why the area is so haunted. It also could be because of the hundreds of suicides that took place off the Third Avenue bridge. Once a body is taken out of the water, EVPs can be captured for a few weeks after. For those brave enough - check out a ghost tour and find out all the creepy details for yourself!
