Anoka State Hospital
Anoka, MN 55303
This hospital has been known by many names in the past including First State Asylum for the Insane, Anoka State Asylum, Anoka State Hospital and most recently Anoka-Metro Regional Treatment Center. It had opened its doors in 1900 and is rumored to be haunted by ghosts of those who died here. There were rumors of abuse and neglect at the hospital, like most mental institutions. Reports say the location has phantom footsteps, noises, laughter, whispers and cold spots, in both the tunnels and building.

Definitely heard voices in the rec room in basement. When I looked across to building 3, where it is rumored someone hung themselves, myself and another inmate saw an apparition in the top attic window, which was sealed by plywood and nails and also locked. This was where computer class was. No one was to be in that building outside that time.
