The Calumet Historic Hotel dates back to the 19th Century and operated as a railroad stoopover for the railway industry. The hotel had two rooms that were rumored to be especially haunted. Room #207 has a ghost that is known to ring reception asking for sundry articles, but once someone reaches the room, the door is locked and there is no one inside. According to reviews, Room #308 is a hot spot for paranormal activity and is one of the most sought after rooms. There have been reports of a lady in a bright dress walking through the hallways who disappears right before their eyes. The piano is the dining room is known to play on its own, and a man dressed in old-fashioned clothing has been seen hanging around before vanishing whenever she is approached.

We spent our evening in the dining room and had a delicious dinner! Went up to room 308 in a joking sort of mood. Sat around and after fifteen minutes of small talk, something stroked the back of my head. Not a touch, but a stroke. Very strong but gentle. We visited more and joked a bit about the room. Another hard touch. We went to the lounge and when we came upstairs for a final bedtime, during the night both of us experienced the sensation of someone sitting on our bed. Very clearly. Weight shift. I saw an indentation. Stayed calm! All well! Very creepy but somewhat comfortable.
I use to work there and during my time there in the kitchen below I have seen carts moving by themselves to sinks turning on when no one is around. One time we were cooking for a party and all the food went ice cold..after getting out of an oven no later then 30 seconds and the whole room was freezing for a minute or 2 and went back to regular temp.
