Mr. Ed’s Farm is a family friendly place to learn about domestic farm animals and farm life.
Fall Fun:
The fall experience includes tour of the barnyard, Little Blue House, MooTel with the corn box, the hay maze and a 20 minute horse drawn ride on a halloween themed trail through the woods. Children receive a free pumpkin from the hay maze.
About Mr. Ed's Farm:
The 160-acre horse-powered farm is located 10 miles east of Hibbing, Minnesota. In addition to Percheron draft horses, the farm is home to sheep, goats, calves, chickens, pigs, ducks, geese, rabbits and Border Collies.
Farm facilities and amenities includes:
MooTel - A fabric covered structure originally designed to house livestock, the MooTel is a 30-by-36 foot children’s play area. Fun things include straw bales to climb on, a corn box to play in and toys for children of all ages.
Animal Barns - The barnyard is home to many animals. Buildings to visit include the Chicken Palace, The Piggery, The Lambing Barn, the Morton Barn and the Old (Horse) Barn. Enjoy meeting and feeding the animals and helping with chores.
The Snoop House - This century-old mining location house was moved to the farm many years ago. It served as the main farmhouse until a few years ago when it was again moved, this time to the field behind the barn. Filled with vintage furniture and an abundance of toys, children are welcome to explore this life-size playhouse.
The Greenhouse - Moving the old house left behind a cement block basement. Instead of filling it in with dirt, it is covered with a green house. During the warmer months this sun-filled subterranean space is lush with vegetables and flowers.
Mrs. Ed’s Screenhouse - Enjoy a game of cards, work on a puzzle or just relax and listen to the animals in this three-season screen house, centrally located in the farmyard.
Matt’s Cabin - Enjoy a bit of lakeside living on the deck of Matt’s log cabin. During the spring of the year the chorus of frogs is phenomenal.
