Haunted House

My family rented a house across the street from the cemetery. 4 married couples age 60+ and 3 20-30 year olds.
On the last night of the stay, my brother in law felt a hand stroke the back of his calf while in bed.
I woke from a dream in which I had been rebuking a witch in Jesus name. Not a pleasant way to wake up!
The next morning when departing my younger brother re-entered the empty house to make sure nothing had been left behind. He heard a door slam upstairs and foot steps.
While this is not in the cemetery, it is very near by.
Creepy! Won't stay there again!

Darkness &Shadows

I grew up just a few miles from there, few of us went there one night f course had too find Berthas grave site, the head stone had a crack on it from top corner to bottom corner, maybe from being pushed over, in front the ground was starting to cave in, I've heard stories from my grandparents about her, at one time they never took care of the cemetery, probably that's why people assume things..

I don’t think you have the right Bertha, as she died prior to the 1920’s and wouldn’t have been able to be a women’s rights activist for the 20’s and 30’s.

Not Haunted

We visited the site late night during a full moon. Needless to say the mood was set. We explored the cemetery and located her grave at the bottom of the hill. Absolutely nothing to speak of in terms of being haunted. I understand it can be a case by case basis. However, in researching this lady it sounds as though she just got a bad rap and shake post mortem. She was a woman’s rights activist in the 20’s and 30’s at a time in which it wasn’t quite a popular opinion. There is no record of her ever being accused of witchcraft or anything of the sort during her lifetime, it was a label that was slapped on her to hush the movement she started. I feel bad for her, getting buried alone at the bottom of a hill and labeled a witch despite there being absolutely zero evidence to even remotely suggest such. May she Rest In Peace.

Bertha plays the chimes

One night while in college a few of us went out to visit Berthas grave. While there I was filming and asking a few questions while standing next to her grave. After asking Bertha to prove to the towns people that she’s not a witch wind chimes started to go off right behind me. I turned and started filming the wind chimes and they stopped almost immediately as I focused the camera on them. There was not strong enough wind that night to set off the chimes, and the fact that it happened right after I asked that specific question still creeps me and my friends out. We also can’t understand why the chimes stoped playing once I started filming them. May it’s a coincidence and a gust of wind started up at just the right time and ended at just the right time. I still have the video. Please share your thoughts below.

False!

I grew up less than a mile from this cemetery and it’s not haunted. Kids say they see and hear things because they try scaring others. Bertha is buried near the lake because she loved the water and the writing on her head Stone was to her children. Very innocent. Grow up people and quit knocking over headstones and defacing graves. It’s childish and disrespectful that that deceased person and others who have family members in that cemetery! Experts have come and found nothing!
