This church is believed to be haunted by ghostly Sioux Indians and a young girl named Annie. Some have reported the lights of the church come on by themselves and apparitions can be seen on the premises.

  • Weird story about this place.

Went there around November 2019, because a coworker recommended it saying it was haunted, so me my friend and ex drove an hour south to check it out and this is the gist of what happened - We got there around 4 PM on a Saturday, and checked it out. It was pretty fun, and interesting. We walked around, took some photos, and overall were very respectful. We went into the town to wait till night time to see if it was scary, or anything. So around 7 PM, we set the GPS to go back to Ness church, and the Apple Maps decided to loop us around the church, but wouldn’t take us on the road where it actually was. We haven’t ever been to litch field prior, so we didn’t know these roads, and they are a bunch of farm roads so hard to really tell in the dark. After 15 minutes of the GPS not leading us anywhere near it, we got on a pretty creepy dirt road that we weren’t on prior. After that road, we finally saw it off in the distance and without the help of the GPS ended up getting there. I don’t exactly know why the GPS did that, but they also can confirm that happened. After we finally were on the road, I had the worst feeling of anxiety, and I go to “scary/haunted” places often and never feel anything like this, but I felt genuinely terrified. As we drove closer my friend who was driving was saying he felt very calm, along with my ex, and I said “Guys, I think something is trying to get us to go there, don’t stop just keep driving” and my friend tried to tell me we have to stop, and I begged him no and we just drove passed it. After we got off that road, he snapped out of it and basically confirmed that he felt very weird and he didn’t know why he felt that way, but my ex who was in the backseat started crying saying she had to go back and go inside, and was freaking out saying she must do it, which was extremely out of character. So for the hour long ride home she had her eyes closed, and would just whisper talk to herself about a family picnic in the graveyard, with a mom, dad and daughter. On the way home, we stopped at another “haunted place” in Monticello Minnesota, to get there you have to walk on train tracks. And, it was around 8:30-9 ish by this point, so it was dark. My ex has night blinded, and extreme anxiety of the dark so, I told my friend to stop walking and let her walk ahead on the tracks, and she did with no worry. After a while, we got to the location, and saw the house (it was very dark, and hard to see anything, even for me with great night vision) and she pointed at the house and said “There’s a man on the porch looking at us” and my friend who was there before said there wasn’t a porch, and she said yes behind the house. And I got uncomfortable and decided to leave. Her and I went home together and for about an hour later she still continued to act strange, but then became normal, and claims she remembered nothing. Months after this, she told me that she kept seeing shadow people around the house. My friend was a skeptical and to this day claims it wasn’t weird, and she was lying and stuff. But, I knew her and I know she couldn’t fake being confident in the dark. We broke up, and I haven’t talked to her in a long time to ask if she was lying, or anything but it was one of the scariest things to happen to me.
