Skatin' Place - Saint Cloud MN Real Haunted Places
- 3302 Southway Dr.
- Saint Cloud, MN

According to a local legend, this location has a ghost named Gilbert who used to live in a farmhouse on the property. Gilbert ended up getting trapped in the swampy land and dying, but his spirit is said to linger the premises. He is said to turn the lights on and off of the arcade games and walks around on the roof. One report says the song Ghostbusters came on over the CD player one night after hours, although the system was off and no CD was in the slot. A customer also reported seeing a face appear in an air vent while she was skating.

Gilbert helps out the ladies
After my second visit to the Skatin’ Place and waiting at the concession area for a pretzel and cheese, my niece and I noticed the letter on the walls about Gilbert. He was a little boy who tragically passed away just trying to do what kids do best - be free and be at play. When my niece decided to investigate the cold spot in the ladies room that had been reported, I decided to actually use the bathroom. After taking my turn and washing my hands, I decided to play with the tampon and pad machine wondering if it actually worked. Not only did it work, but it gave us a free tampon that we left for someone else’s use. This might have been a machine error, but I think it was Gilbert helping a lady out. :)Posted 2/7/22

I love the Skatin' Place, and anyone who goes there a lot should know about Gilbert. Me and my friends love going there, so we've known about him for a while. It's really sad to know that something so tragic happened at a place of joy though, and I do hope that Gilbert finds peace someday.Posted 2/12/20
